Fan arrests ruin Manchester United’s Champions League win

A group of Manchester United fans had a fight with a group of Club Bruges fans, after the Red Devils’ win of 4-0 in Belgium. The Manchester United fans had traveled without tickets, and had to settle for watching the match on TV at the Charlie Rockets pub. Once the Club Bruges fans arrived, a fight started, and Belgian police had to arrest them all to stop it.

Most of the united fans were released without charge, but a couple was kept in custody.

As one of the police officers said, two nights had been spent pleasantly, and it’s a shame that an isolated incident overshadowed all that.

Wayne Rooney proved to be at his best for this game, having scored 3 of the 4 goals that shot Manchester United straight back into the Champions League. Rooney didn’t let his previous drought affect him while playing, as he is convinced of his quality and what he offers the team. In short, he knows that even when he doesn’t score, he’s still a positive asset for his team.

He also knows that there are many other players in his situation, but that because of his name, of who he is, it was publicized a lot more. “That’s part of my job and I have to accept that” he says in an interview. Louis van Gaalclaims “Rooney has the best mentality you can imagine”.

Everyone is excited about today’s draw, to see whom they’ll be playing the next match against. So, it’s really a moment of excitement as well as happiness.
