The deputy president was among those who received the team at the Jomo Kenyatte International Airport in Nairobi.
The deputy president Mr. William Ruto later hosted the athletes for a breakfast at his residential home in Karen located in Nairobi.
The numbers of medals that Kenya won were as follows: gold medals were seven, silver medals were six and bronze medals won were three.

Doctor will be de-registered and prosecuted if they are found to be taking part in the exercise.
This materialized after two athletes from Kenya were found to be positive of an unknown substance prior to the beginning of the event.
Two sprinters by the name of Joyce Sakari and Francisca Koki who were to participate in 400m and 400m hurdles respectively brought about at a time when doping amongst Kenyan athletes had been highlighted.
Athletic Kenya has banned several agencies coaches and managers owing to different pending investigations of their alleged involvement in doping cases.
Volare Sports and Rosa Associati are some of the agents who were banned with their managers being investigated.
Several camps have been closed due to associating with doping of athletes.
Banned firms and managers are currently being investigated by the police and the newly established body, the Anti Doping Agency and the athletics Kenya Medical Doping Commission.
Business came to a standstill on the touchdown of the athletes. Family members’ friends, relatives and the public as a whole celebrated when the athletes alighted from the plane.
The deputy president was accompanied by the cabinet secretary and other political leaders including: governors, senators, Mps and members of county assembly.
